Trust and Change: Satech's Perspective on Work and People
2025 was a significant year for Satech: we celebrated 25 years of activity, a milestone built together that confirms how people's contribution has been and continues to be the true driving force behind our company's success.
A story born from a shared vision
In 2000, in a small warehouse in Merate (province of Lecco), an ambitious idea came to life: to improve the safety of production environments, by closely observing those who work in production every day. Since then, our journey has grown alongside those who made it possible, transforming a local reality into a reference point for Industrial Safety in Italy, Europe and the world.
Growth, innovation and continuity
Joining the Troax Group strengthened our ability to face new challenges, without ever losing touch with our values. The move to our headquarters in Bulciago in 2020 represented a concrete evolution: more functional spaces, advanced technologies and a working environment designed to enhance the wellbeing and contribution of every person.
An anniversary to celebrate together
In December we celebrated Satech's 25 years with an event that brought the entire team together. Opening the evening, Eng. Xavier Garcia, CEO of Satech, and Nicola Balestrazzi, General Manager & CFO, delivered a speech that placed the value of people at its heart. We paid tribute to those who have been with the company since day one, rewarded Kaizen initiatives and the winning project of the Sustainability Competition. Between institutional moments and lighter occasions, such as the traditional Christmas tombola, the evening reinforced that sense of community that continues to guide our work, every day.
Meeting the new generations
This spirit of attention to people also emerges from the words of Roberto Lorenzi, Human Resources Manager at Satech, who met students from the ITS Business Development Manager course at the Istituto Maria Ausiliatrice in Lecco, created in collaboration with ITS Machina Lonati in Brescia. A moment dedicated to dialogue between businesses and young people entering the world of work.
Roberto, during the meeting with ITS students you recounted your transition from the publishing world to the industrial sector, a change that requires courage and openness. What significance did this choice have for you and what can it teach those preparing to enter the world of work?
«Professional change is often seen as a risk, but in reality it’s a concrete lever for growth. You don’t need to have everything under control before taking a step forward. Entering the world of work means facing new contexts, questioning yourself, learning as you go.
Accepting change as part of the journey helps develop trust, flexibility and curiosity, especially at the beginning of one’s career. Following what sparks interest and putting yourself out there can open important opportunities, often unexpected ones».
In your role as HR Manager you see every day how people contribute to Satech's growth. Looking at daily work, what aspects define the company's culture and what qualities in people truly make a difference to results?
«Satech’s company culture is built daily around some fundamental elements: mutual trust, shared responsibility and genuine attention to people. Technical skills are certainly indispensable, but on their own they’re not enough. What truly makes a difference is the way we work together, the quality of professional relationships and the ability to feel part of a common project.
When people feel heard and respected, they manage to fully express their potential and this translates directly into the company’s solidity and its results».
The students appreciated your direct approach and willingness to listen. What kind of relationship does Satech want to build with the new generations and what opportunities arise from dialogue with students and young professionals?
«Satech wants to build an authentic relationship with the new generations, founded on dialogue and mutual listening. Meetings such as the one with students from the ITS Business Development Manager course at the Istituto Maria Ausiliatrice in Lecco, don’t represent one-way communication opportunities, but genuine moments of exchange. Young people bring with them questions, expectations and perspectives that also help the company to observe itself with fresh eyes and from different angles.
From this exchange emerge valuable opportunities for both parties: for the students, a more concrete awareness of the world of work; for the business, important stimuli to continue evolving and maintain an open and attentive outlook towards the future».
In your presentation you explained how a company remains human when it listens, grows with people and cultivates quality relationships. In what way does this approach describe Satech and its way of creating value?
«A company remains human when it places people at the centre not only in its declared values, but in its daily choices and actions. At Satech this is realised through active listening, care in relationships and the will to grow together with our team.
Creating value doesn’t simply mean producing or selling, but developing Solutions that genuinely protect people and are sustainable over time. It’s precisely this balance between human attention, quality of work and sense of responsibility that makes the company solid and credible in the long term.».
Let's change perspective and talk about technology and the future. During the meeting with ITS students, the topic of Artificial Intelligence sparked great curiosity. How do you interpret this strong interest from young people? And above all: which human skills do you believe remain decisive even in the AI era?/bold]
«Young people’s interest in artificial intelligence is understandable: technology is profoundly transforming the way we work and create value in every sector. It’s now a central and unavoidable topic for anyone preparing to enter the professional world. At the same time, however, human skills remain absolutely decisive. Critical thinking, the ability to build authentic relationships, the sense of responsibility and the aptitude for collaboration cannot be replaced by technology, however advanced. Technological tools are powerful, but it’s people who determine their conscious, ethical and effective use».
In closing, trust and change are two key words from your presentation. What final message would you like to leave for those building their professional path?
«The final message I feel I can share is linked to trust and openness to change. Entering the world of work today means confronting complex, dynamic and constantly evolving contexts. In this scenario, having trust in one’s choices, accepting to learn constantly and questioning oneself becomes fundamental.
Change should not be feared, but understood and managed with openness and curiosity. It’s this attitude that allows one to build a solid, coherent and lasting professional path».
