During GLOBAL INDUSTRIE 2018 (March 27th – 30th, Paris), Satech took part to the groundbreaking “Connected Factory” (Usine Connectée) event. This exhibition represented a touching point between manufacturers and users. A place where visitors were able to see – and not only imagine – how their factories will work in the future.
Within a 1,000 m² area, a life-size manufacturing plant was displayed. The plant showed how production is evolving from product conception to final delivery. This exhibition of technologies and know-hows let guests discover how to improve their factories.
Visitors received as personalized gadgets, the actual goods produced within the facility: Olympic gold medal replicas.
The plant included a case manufacturing station where sectioning, punching, and folding took place. There, the cases for the gadget were produced.
Robotic transitions supported the production process during most of its phases. For example, the transition between the manufacturing and finishing stations was automated. In this case, the robotic station performed automatic dimensional control on a sample. The degreasing process was manual, but the loading of cases on swing trays was performed by a robot as well.
In the finishing station, liquid and powder paint were applied to the cases, which were heat-treated next. Then, they reached the step before the assembly phase. During this part of the process, the machine that assembled the gadget and its case was prepared.
Obviously, Human-Machine Interfaces controlled and supervised all these processes and stations.
Satech products supported the entire process by providing safety to both personnel and visitors. Thanks to our systems, the production process took place without interruptions. Thus, enhancing productivity.
